Buying guides for science books, kits and equipment. Each guide compares its picks on specs you can check: page count, size, edition, list price and who each pick suits.

How the picks are checked

Every spec comes from the publisher or manufacturer listing. When a retailer listing disagrees with the publisher, the guide prints the publisher’s figure or drops the pick. Prices are list prices on the date the guide was last checked, so the price at checkout can differ.
